Dr. Shital Jhunjhunwala, a distinguished Professor at the Faculty of Commerce and Business, Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University is a Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, a Cost Accountant and a management graduate from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) – Calcutta. With a wealth of experiences accumulated over more than 25 years, she seamlessly merges her extensive industry and academic knowledge to bridging the gap between theory and practical application.
For the past two decades Professor Jhunjhunwala has dedicated herself to teaching and research in the domains of Corporate Governance, Valuation of Intangible Assets and Management Accounting. She has contributed to the professional development of corporate directors and executives through the conception and execution of training programs. These programs endeavour to foster a deeper understanding and proficiency in key areas of strategic decision making, cost management and corporate governance, critical to effective corporate leadership.
Professor Jhunjhunwala is frequently invited as an expert to chair sessions, serve as a resource person at corporate training events & faculty development programs and deliver talks to management students across the country. Given her profound research insights on corporate governance she was specifically called upon to evaluate Doctoral thesis by renownowed Universities of Australia and New Zealand. Recognized internationally for her valuable contributions, she was among the six delegates selected nationwide to participate in the IVLP – Think Tank program by the US government.
As the founder editor of the Indian Journal of Corporate Governance, a Scopus and ABDC indexed journal, Professor Jhunjhunwala has played a pivotal role in shaping the discourse on corporate governance. A prolific writer her books ‘Diversity and the Effective Corporate Board’ and ‘Corporate Governance: Creating Value for Stakeholders’ by reputable international publishers Elsevier and Palgrave Macmillan respectively have been received well globally. The numerous articles published in Scopus and ABDC ranked journals with huge citation and high impact factor showcase her commitment and contribution to pivotal scholarly work. Having extensively travelled, Professor Jhunjhunwala has presented papers at several international conferences including at USA, Venice, Singapore, Malaysia and India where she had the opportunity of exchanging valuable insights with fellow researchers
