Dr. Pooja is an accomplished academic with 15 years of extensive experience across various educational levels, including schools, colleges, and universities. She began her career as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in Biology and has since taught Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) and Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) students at Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor in the University School of Education, GGSIPU where she instructs Master of Education (M.Ed) and ITEP students.
Throughout her career, Dr. Pooja has mentored many B.El.Ed students in their research projects. Her academic journey is marked by several accolades, including the Jila Bal Vaigyanik Award by the Haryana Government in 1994, merit certificates with cash prizes for securing first positions in Chemistry and Zoology at the undergraduate level, and a distinction in her Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
She has also been recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Directorate of Education for her contributions to a central-level science exhibition, an award for outstanding performance in environmental education, the Environmental Teacher of the Year award for 2011-12 by Jim Corbett, Nainital, and a Certificate of Appreciation under the INSPIRE MANAK Award scheme by the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi, in 2018.
Dr. Pooja's research interests encompass Science Education, Environmental Education, the Indian Knowledge System, the Evolution of Indian Education, the Contribution of Ancient Indian Education to the Development of Science and Technology, Teacher Education, and Pedagogical Practices. She has actively contributed to academic discourse by presenting research papers at many national and international conferences.
