The research in our lab is focused on the characterization of bioactive phytoconstituents from different plant sources and exploring their potential as dietary supplements and drugs to treat diseases with a major focus on skin, metabolic disorders and related lifestyle diseases. Most of the work is focused on finding out the nutraceutical and cosmeceutical potential of the extracts from various plant parts. Also, we are trying to optimize and study the change in the production of these bioactive compounds using sustainable in vitro culture techniques. Efforts are underway to check the bioavailability and bioaccessibility of these compounds to potentiate curative/corrective effects at site of action in body through in vitro approaches.
