Brief Profile

Prof. (Dr.) Neelu Mehra has over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration across diverse areas of law, including gender justice, human rights, women Laws, property laws, criminology and public health law.

She holds a Ph.D. in Law from Kurukshetra University and has guided several doctoral scholars on contemporary socio-legal issues. She has also made significant academic and administrative contributions both within and beyond Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

She has successfully completed major research projects funded by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and GGSIPU, focusing on the elderly, third gender rights and Impact of COVID-19 on education.She has also represented India in international collaborative projects titled "Global Access to Justice" and "Impact of COVID-19 on Justice System". Her scholarly output includes a co-authored book “Women and Law” and over twenty research publications in reputed Scopus and UGC Care-listed journals. Prof. Mehra has represented India in international collaborative projects and has presented papers at global academic forums including Harvard Medical School, University of Toronto, and University College London. She actively contributes to academic administration as a member of various university committees and editorial boards. Her research and academic pursuits reflect a deep commitment to advancing social equity, gender justice, and access to justice through law and education.
