Prof. Shruti Aggarwal is a Professor of Physics at the University School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi.

Throughout her career, she has held numerous significant administrative roles, including her current positions as Head and In-charge of the University Library, University Course Coordinator for Skill-Based Certificate Courses, and University Nodal Officer for the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). From 2017 to 2020, she served as the Dean of the school and has chaired several key university committees.

Prof. Aggarwal completed her Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and later pursued postdoctoral research at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado, USA. She has also served as a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. Her research spans several fields, including silver nanowire-based transparent contacts, solar photovoltaics, crystal growth, swift heavy ion irradiation effects, and thermoluminescence and medical dosimetry. As a principal investigator, Prof. Aggarwal has led more than 15 research projects and fellowships, securing funding from prestigious organizations such as AICTE, UGC, DST, IUAC, GGSIPU, and Academia Sinica, Taiwan.

Prof. Aggarwal’s contributions to science and academia have been widely recognized through numerous honors and fellowships, including the AICTE Young Scientist Career Award, the UGC Raman Fellowship, the Empowering Women Award, and a Visiting Associateship at the Solar Energy Centre (MNRE). In addition to her research, she has mentored postdoctoral researchers, research scholars, and students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including M.Tech. and M.Sc. students.

She is frequently sought after as an expert and subject matter specialist and serves on statutory bodies and advisory committees at several universities. In addition to her academic and research achievements, Prof. Aggarwal has been an ardent advocate for fostering enthusiasm for science, technology, and research. Her work has taken her to various countries, including the USA, Australia, the UK, Bulgaria, Taiwan, China, and Singapore. Through a range of initiatives, she continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of scientists and scholars, both within her university and around.
