Dr. Prafull Gadpal is an Associate Professor of Buddhist Philosophy and Pali at the Central Sanskrit University, Lucknow Campus, with over 19 years of academic and teaching experience. He holds advanced qualifications in Sanskrit and Pali, has qualified UGC-NET in both disciplines, and earned a Ph.D. focusing on post-independence Sanskrit literature on the character of the Buddha.
A dedicated scholar of Pali language and Buddhist studies, Dr. Gadpal has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and knowledge dissemination. He has authored, edited, and translated more than 40 scholarly works and published over 40 research papers, articles, and Units in reputed national and international journals. His academic engagement extends to active participation in conferences, workshops, and research supervision.
Dr. Gadpal is particularly known for his innovative pedagogical initiatives, including intensive residential Pali training camps and the development of simplified instructional materials for learners at different levels, especially in school education. His efforts to integrate ethics and language learning through child-friendly textbooks mark a notable contribution to value-based education.
Beyond traditional scholarship, he has embraced digital transformation in humanities education. He has also held key academic and administrative roles, including serving on Boards of Studies, coordinating research and quality assurance activities, and leading curriculum development and online education.
