Dr. Harleen Kaur is Associate Professor at Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. She holds an LL.B. (Gold Medalist), LL.M and Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. She has 19 years of teaching experience and is teaching LL.B. & LL.M. students.

Criminal Law (IPC and CrPC), Surrogacy Laws, Gender Justice , Property Law, Criminal Justice and Human Rights, Law of Contract and ADR.
Awards and Honors
With an excellent academic record, she is also the recipient of various awards such as: Gold Medal (Hiralal Daga Memorial Medal) & P. G. Krishnan Memorial Prize, Law Union Prize and G. Pershad Memorial Prize for B.A. (Pass) in Miranda House, University of Delhi in addition to the Academic Excellence Award 2019 by Iswar Saran Post Graduate College (University of Allahabad) and Droit Penale: Indian Law Journal On Crime and Criminology, Legal Path Foundation. She has also been awarded the Mahanagar Global Achievers Award for Women Empowerment 2022.
Research and Publications
She has extensive research experience and has published several works on diverse legal issues in reputed national and international journals, edited volumes, and books. She is the author of three scholarly books: Laws and Policies on Surrogacy: Comparative Insights from India (Springer, Singapore, 2021), Paradigm Shifts in Sexual Offenses Laws in India (Hamilton Books, London, 2023), and Confronting Domestic Violence: A Complete Guide to India's DV Act, 2005 with International Legal Perspectives ( Satyam International,2026).
She has also been representing India at various international forums. She Presented Research Paper paper titled 'Religion-Based Hate Speech or Free Speech: Indian Courts in a Quandary' in the conference organized by The Center for International Law Research and Policy (CILRAP) with funding from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 'Religion, Hateful Expression and Violence, held in Florence, Italy, from 8-9 April 2022. She was also Invited as a speaker in the International Rule of Law Convention 2023 organised by Bar Council of India on 15th & 16th April, 2023 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, to speak on “Developing Collaborations for Capacity Building in the Legal and Justice Sectors in the Global South" amidst leaders of the legal profession from across the world including from International Bar Association (IBA), Union Internationale des avocats (UIA), American Bar Association (ABA), Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), LAWASIA, World Justice Project (WJP) etc. She was also invited as a distinguished resource person from India in the World Peace Summit hosted by HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) in South Korea from 18th September to 21st September,2023. Further, she was selected from India to be among the 20 participants worldwide in the Nuremberg Summer Academy, a two-week intensive summer course on International Criminal Law (2024), held from 3 August 2024 to 16 August 2024, and successfully completed the same. Presently, she has been awarded a fellowship by Tashkent State University, Uzbekistan (2025-2026)

Krishnan Memorial Prize, Law Union Prize for securing first position in order of merit in three consecutive years of LL.B. and G. Pershad Memorial Prize for B.A. (Pass) in Miranda House, University of Delhi in addition to the ‘Academic Excellence Award’ for the year 2019 and ‘Women Empowerment Award’ in the Sixth Season of Mahanagar Global Achievers ‘Award 2022.
