| Sikkim’s Endangered Language Documentation Project | Major | 2020 | Three Tibeto-Burman (Kiranti Sub-group) languages spoken in Sikkim were taken up for detailed study in the project. The project produced dictionaries, Android Application dictionaries, sketch grammars, Sociolinguistic profiles, and ethnographic reports of all the three languages. In addition, the project managed to also produce 4 documentary films on Kulung funeral rites, Sakewa, Nagi, and Bantawa language and culture workshop. Various variations were discovered across five parameters: Tonal, Phonological, Morpho-Phonological, Morphological, Syntactic. The project engaged also in a detailed study of the Andro variety as it is known be markedly different from the standard variety.
