Prof. Susmitha P Mallaya is a Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. She has been awarded her Ph.D in ”Documentary Credit: An Indian Perspective” in 2008 from the School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, Kerala. She has completed her LL.M  with specialisation in Corporate Laws and Constitutional Law from the School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, Kerala. She qualified National Eligibility Test conducted by the University Grants Commission in June 2001. Her LL.B. with specialisation in Labour Laws is from the Government Law College, Ernakulam affliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. She studied at Cochin College, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University for B.Com Degree.

She is having a rich experience of teaching in law for more than 20 years in various Law Schools and Universities in India. She started her teaching pursuit from School of Legal Studies, Kannur University in 2002. Thereafter,  moved to Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, Mangalore University, Udupi, Karnataka, Amity Law School, affiliated to GGSIP University, Dwaraka, Delhi, Indian Law Institute, Delhi and Law Center-1, Faculty of Law University of Delhi. During her tenure, she has discharged various administrative responsibilities along with teaching and research. She has been empanelled as an external examiner for various Ph.D. Programmes by various Legal Institutions including National Law Universities in India. She has also delivered guest lectures in various prestigious Legal Institutions.

She has published several articles in different areas of law including women and law in various reputed national journals including UGC listed/UGC Care Listed Journals as well as Book chapters. Has editorial experience of editing the journal of Annual Survey of Indian Laws, one of the prestigious journals of the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi from 2014 prior to be part of editorial team of Journal of Law Teachers of India in 2018. Has Co-Edited books on Emerging Competition Law, jointly published by ILI and Wolters Kluwer and Emerging Trends in Corporate Governance: Legal Issues & Challenges in India published by Satyam Law International, New Delhi. She is also contributing a Survey analysis of the Indian case laws delivered by Supreme Court of India and various high courts annually in the area of Banking Law, Law and Social Transformation in India and Company Law in Annual Survey of India, a prestigious publication of Indian Law Institute. She has  served as panellist as well as Chairperson in various International and National Conferences and Seminars organised by prestigious Institutions. Guided/Guided research scholars including Indian Law Institute and presently in Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.

Her area of interest focused on Corporate laws including Competition Laws, Legal Rresearch and White Collar Crimes. She has taught various subjects in earlier Institution for LL.B  and LL.M. students like Company Law, Competition Law, Investment Laws, Insurance and Banking Law, Health Care Laws, Interpretation of Statutes, Law and Justice in Globalised World, Socio-Economic Offences, Law of Crimes, Special Contract, Property Laws, Environmental Laws and also Androgogy: The Art of Teaching Adults as part of Ph.D Course Work in Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.
