An Enquiry Concerning the Epistemic Status of Electronic Word of Mouth (EWOM) Minor 2021 Epistemological inquiries about the nature, ontology, and value of verbal testimony as a valid source of knowledge have surfaced in recent epistemological trajectories. The emergence of the Internet and the World Wide Web has enunciated a number of significant technological changes in the information society, including new methods for collectively creating knowledge and evaluating information. The widespread use of social networks and other web-based systems for the dissemination of different types of information has led to a revolution in the established methods of knowledge filtering and of conferring the epistemic status of being valid testimonial knowledge. Through my research, an endeavor has been made to understand the nature and epistemic status of Electronic word of mouth or Verbal testimony in the digital realm. An inquiry into the epistemic status of authorless verbal testimony in the digital realm has also been undertaken. An attempt has also been made to delineate the criterion on the basis of which authentic verbal testimony in the digital realm can be demarcated from inauthentic verbal testimony. The challenges and hindrances that are faced concerning granting the epistemic status of the valid source of knowledge to verbal testimony in the digital world have also been delved into and some suggestions have been made about the various facets of EWOM or verbal testimony in the digital world 01-11-2021 To 30-06-2022 (7 months, 29 days)
