Synthesis and medicinal chemistry of sialic acid-based molecules as anticancer agents Minor 2023 Development of CMP-sialic acid transporter inhibitors is the emerging areas of anticancer research and there are good chances to develop/find potent anticancer molecules. Interestingly, the sialic acid-based analogues proposed here have a great potential to show antiviral activity against COVID-19 because the mechanism of action of these compounds would be very similar to some of best antiviral drugs i.e., Tamiflu. The proposed research will have a direct and greater impact on human health and the environment. I hope to develop several therapeutic agents with better anticancer and antiviral activities. Additionally, most of the work proposed here has patentable potential which is an added advantage. The research proposed here also has the potential to be published in reputed journals with very high impact factor. 2023-08-31 2024-05-31
