Constitutional Law
Dr. Swaril Dania joined as an Assistant Professor at the University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIPU, in September 2025.
Dr. Swaril Dania has completed her Ph.D. from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. Her thesis examines the model of transformative constitutionalism, juxtaposing it against the conventional models of constitutionalism, challenging the understanding of core precepts of constitutionalism, the prevalent jurisprudential assumptions about the role and function of law in society as well as the dominant theories of interpretation of constitutional text. She has completed her LL.M. in Constitutional and Administrative Law from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi and was awarded with the Late Shri Viswanath Pasayat Gold Medal award for her meritorious performance in the course.
She has completed her three-year LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. She also holds an undergraduate honours degree in Economics from Miranda House, University of Delhi, Delhi.
She has previously served as Assistant Professor (Law) at Bennett University, Greater Noida. Her research and teaching areas include comparative public law, constitutional law, constitutionalism models of the global south and legal research methodology.
