Area of Interest:  Molecular Virology and Innate Immunity

Prof. Ranjit's research focuses on exploring virus-host interactions with an emphasis on the regulation of innate immune responses by RNA viruses such as chikungunya virus, SARS-CoV-2, hepatitis E virus, hepatitis C virus etc. Various interdisciplinary approaches are used to decipher replication mechanisms of RNA viruses, manipulation of host systems by viruses and viral strategies for evading innate immune responses.
