Dr. Divya Verma (डॉ दिव्या वर्मा) is the Director of the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, where she is leading the University's vision of expanding access to quality higher education through technology-enabled and learner-centric education.
A Professor at the University School of Management Studies, GGSIPU, Dr. Verma has over two decades of distinguished experience in teaching, research, academic administration, institutional governance, and quality assurance. She also serves as the In-charge of the Indraprastha Centre for Strategy and Policy Research (ICSPR), where she promotes interdisciplinary research, evidence-based policy analysis, and academic engagement on issues of national importance.
Dr. Verma holds a Ph.D. in Finance, an MBA, and an M.A. in Economics. Her research spans Behavioural Finance and Economics, Banking and FinTech, Financial Markets, Financial Stability and Systemic Risk, Climate Finance, and Economic Policy, with a particular focus on India's evolving financial ecosystem. She has authored eight academic books, completed major research projects funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), and supervised doctoral research on financial literacy, household financial behaviour, banking sector stability, disinvestment, climate finance and market microstructures. Her research has been widely published in reputed national and international journals, and she has presented her work at prestigious academic institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and international conferences across the United States, Europe, and Australia.
Committed to democratising knowledge, Dr. Verma actively contributes to higher education through UGC SWAYAM MOOCs, UGC–VYAS educational broadcasts, invited lectures, and digital learning initiatives that make academic knowledge accessible to students, professionals, and lifelong learners.
