Dr Amit Ahuja, recipient of the 32nd Dr S. Radhakrishnan Memorial National Teacher Award 2016 and the Council for Teachers’ Professional Development, India Fellowship Award-2023, is Professor at the University School of Education, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

He was honoured with “Faculty Recognition (2025)” and “Shikshak Padak-2024” by GGSIP University, Delhi. He is on board with NCTE as a Mentor for the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM). He obtained Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Education from the Department of Education at the University of Delhi. He also obtained a Master's Degree, with Distinction, in Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He was awarded a Merit Scholarship for B.Ed. (1997-98) by the Department of Education, University of Delhi. His areas of specialisation are Methodology of Educational Research, Educational Technology, Cognitive Psychology, Science Education, Educational & Vocational Guidance, and Social & Adult Education.

He has supervised & co-supervised 112 M.Ed. dissertations and 12 PhD theses. He was a Member of the ICT Curriculum Group (2013) that developed the ICT in Education curricula for the Central Institute of Educational Technology, NCERT, New Delhi. He has presented research papers at national and international conferences/seminars in India and abroad. As the university sponsored faculty for presentation of his research papers, he has visited foreign universities, namely *National Sun- Yat sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan; *University of Sussex, Brighton, England; *University of Toronto, Mississauga, Canada; *Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore and *University of New South Wales, Australia. He chaired the technical sessions in the International Conferences at the University of Sussex, United Kingdom and the University of Toronto, Canada. He was honoured with the Best Paper Award: 2023 for a paper presentation at the NAAC-sponsored Two Days National Conference on Best Practices of Research & Innovation in STEAM Higher Education, organised by SDNBV College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He received a Certificate of Appreciation for his valuable contribution to the “National Seminar on Science Education in School: Emerging Perspectives” (2008), organised by the Department of Education, CIE, University of Delhi. He has completed eight research projects sponsored by ICSSR, New Delhi and GGSIP University, Delhi.

He has also authored a book, “A Textbook on School Organisation and Management”. He is on the editorial board of various journals at the institutional and university levels. He has delivered Video Lectures for D.El.Ed. Programme on NIOS, Channel No. 32 “Swayam Prabha” and IGNOU, Channel 32 “Teacher Education”. He has developed e-Content for Central University of Punjab, Jamia Millia Islamia, HRDC, Mizoram, CIET-NCERT and NCTE. He has been invited as Resource Person in 252 professional development activities, namely FDPs, FIPs, seminars, international webinars, conferences, extension lectures, in-service training programmes, talks, panel discussions, capacity building programmes, educational summits by NCERT, SCERT, IGNOU, NIOS, CBSE, DBSE, DIETs, Directorate of Education, Delhi; Affiliated Institutions & University Departments in various Indian states and Department of Psychology, Institute of Higher Education, Roshdiyeh, Tabriz, Iran. He has regularly published research papers, articles, and concept papers in Reputable National and International journals. As an External Examiner, he has evaluated 25 PhD theses. At the university level, as a convener of the Joint Assessment Committee, he has conducted 82 Affiliation Visits and 35 Academic Audit Visits in affiliated institutes of GGSIP University, Delhi. He is the UGC Coordinator of the University since 2024 onwards. He is a life member of the Indian Association of Teacher Educators (IATE), All India Association for Educational Research (AIAER), Global Educational Research Association (GERA), Delhi State Science Teachers Forum (DSSTF), Teaching & Education Research Association (TERA) and All India Science Teachers Association (AIAER). He is a Member of the Research Advisory Committee of the National Institute of Open Schooling (2024-27), the Board of Studies of various universities, and the University School of Liberal Arts, GGSIP University. He was a member of the Managing Committee of the Central Institute of Education (CIE) Experimental Basic School, Department of Education, University of Delhi, Delhi (2023-25). He is the Executive Member of the Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF) Delhi-NCR Chapter (2022-2025). He was elected to the Executive Body (2010) of AIAER and IATE (2017).
