Dr. Nanki Nath is serving as an Assistant Professor and Programme Co- ordinator of ‘Interaction Design’ at the University School of Design & Innovation (USDI), East Delhi Campus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi. She was a faculty member at Dept. of Design, IIT Guwahati (2014-2017) and Graphic Design, NID Ahmedabad (2017 - 2020).
She served as Associate Professor and Program Co-ordinator in Visual Communication at School of Design, MIT World Peace University, Pune. In her 10 years, 5 months of total work experience, she has 10 years of teaching experience, in which she has guided 144 student projects (graduation, post-graduation and semester-long design projects) till date. She has 3 Ph.D. Research Scholars (1 Full-time, 2 Part-time) at USDI from August 2024 onwards.
She has done her M.Des in Graphic Design from NID Ahmedabad and Ph.D. in the domain of Visual Communication Design from IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. She served as Vice Activity Chairperson, R&D at NID Ahmedabad (2018-19); Project Associate with Integrated Design Services (IDS), NID for six months with Industrial projects’ team in 2008 after her M.Des.
She has been invited for guest sessions and juries at Dept. of Design, IIT Delhi; Textile Design, NID; Design dept. at SPA Bhopal, Design dept, DTU and Design dept. at NSUT, Delhi. She has been a Visiting Faculty at IICD, Jaipur; VID, Pune and USDI, Delhi. Currently, also a Board of Studies member for Interaction Design and allied disciplines at Dept. of Design, NSUT, Delhi.
Among her administrative tasks, she is Co-ordinator of Career and Outreach Cell, Placements, USDI; member of IPR - Research and Consultancy of USDI, member of the Board of Studies (BoS), USDI; Link Officer: 3D-Printing Lab at USDI and an NSS Program Officer for USDI. At GGSIPU: Member of Global Rankings Collaboration Cell (GRCC), Innovation and Incubation Cell (IIC) & Joint Assessment Committee (JAC).
She has 7 Peer-reviewed Journal publications and 33 paper publications in refereed national and international conferences from 2009 till date. She formulated the SEED Research Grant scheme development, research colloquium activities, organised invited talks and conducted design workshops at departmental and institutional levels at IITG, IITD, Design dept, DTU, NID Bengaluru, NID Ahmedabad; DAAP, University of Cincinnati and USDI, GGSIPU-EDC.
She has been on the editorial boards for peer-reviewed, ‘The International Journal of Visual Design’ with The University of Illinois, USA; ‘Cultural Syndrome’ with Universitas Indraprasta PGRI, Indonesia, SA:CE: Springer Nature Proceedings Series and has reviewed e-book proposal in AI Design with Bentham Science Publishers. She has been among the Scientific Review Committee members for INSIGHT’18, ICoRD’19, ICoRD’21, ICoRD’23, ICoRD’25, ICoRD'27, HWWE 2021 and FDE 2024 with SPRINGER Double-Blind Peer-reviewed proceedings at NID Ahmd., IISc B'luru, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IIT Delhi. She has been Technical ReviewCo-ordinator for ‘Architecture and Design’ theme papers and Organizing Secretary for the 8th ICAPIE 2024, organized at GGSIPU, East Delhi Campus in collab with DTU, Delhi.
She mentored an Industry Team as a UMO.Design Task Force member for DesignXSocial Innovation Challenge 2020 and they received recognition in the 30 finalists Innovation projects selected. She mentored multidisciplinary USDI students’ team and they received 4th position in the Smart Delhi Ideathon 2025 at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi. Her recent paper publication with her PhD Scholar has received ‘Best Paper Presentation Award’ at Connect 360: Sustainability and Innovation Incorporating Indian Knowledge Systems’ International Conference (hybrid-mode) in April 2025, by KR Mangalam University with JMI, New Delhi.
She has been involved in Curriculum Design at IITG, NID Ahmedabad, MIT-WPU and Interaction Design syllabi for B.Des, M.Des and Ph.D. in Design programmes at USDI and recently at Dept. of Design, NSUT, Delhi. She has developed design content on logos, typography, signs, visual culture, design gurus in India and Gurmukhi Style Manuscript Writing for D’source 12by12 Gallery and D’source, IITB. Among her notable consultancy projects, she has designed visual identities (logos) for NIT Sikkim, Assam; Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) for NDMA and USDI, New Delhi. Her recent notable project has been to design the visual identity (logo) for 25th/(Silver Jubilee Year celebration of GGSIP University in 2023-24. Developed research-led guidelines for a DIC (MHRD) funded project in packaging design at IIT Guwahati.
Her poster design on Gurmukhi Script received recognition in the Poster Display Exhibition (theme: Indigenous Script Digitalization: ‘Reinventing Lost Heritages in Digital Societies’) at ‘Merajut Indonesia 2022’ in collab with .id, UNESCO, STMM, KOMINFO.
She developed Design Thinking and Innovation course curriculum, tasks for CBSE Std. XI school children coming under National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 and spearheaded by the Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, MHRD.
